What CAN Happen
Authorizing a qualifying patient to possess and administer
medical cannabis, and possess and use paraphernalia for a specified purpose,
etc. as of this year, if the bill passes. If the bill gets a hearing this year,
then we can expect it to go much farther next year, with an even greater chance
of passing..
Bipartisan Support
Medical cannabis has the support of all parties because
anyone has the potential to need this medicine, and nearly everyone knows
someone who could benefit or who could have benefited from this medicine.
How do we combat idiots like this Senator Don Gaetz? Look at this individuals response who does not give a damn about the sick and dying in Florida! I urge Everyone to write him expressing your discust and concern!
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Stanard,
Thanks very much for writing me your thoughts regarding Senate Bill 1250, sponsored by Senator Jeff Clemens (D-Lake Worth).
I greatly appreciate your sharing with me your support for this proposed legislation which would legalize use of marijuana for medicinal purposes.
My voting record is consistent in supporting public policies which discourage the misuse of drugs which are classified as illegal. I do not support efforts to change the classification of marijuana.
Again, thanks for writing. It means a great deal to me.
Respectfully,
Senator Don Gaetz

Subject: Support Florida's Patients, Pass Medical Marijuana Legislation
Before you can come back with some ignorant comment about how you guys dont support illegal narcotics, do yourself a favor and get educated. It saves peoples lives. Which you guys obviously don't care about. Again, educate yourself before you send out those rediculous letters stating you dont support something that the CORRUPT Government knows for a fact that it benefits the sick and elderly.
If Eric Holder can send guns to the mexican drug cartels and this Obama guy can lie his butt off, smoke dope in his past and dictate the country that holds the PATENT on Medical Cannabis he can surely allow people to use it for that purpouse!
I'm asking for your support Senate Bill 1250 and House Bill 1139, The Cathy Jordan Medical Marijuana Act, which seeks to enact a limited exception to Florida's criminal laws to permit the doctor-advised medical use of cannabis by patients with serious medical conditions. At the same time, it will not alter or interfere with already existing state laws discouraging the non-medical, personal use of marijuana.
Voters strongly support this change in law. According to a February 2013 statewide poll, 70 percent of Floridians favor allowing doctors to authorize specified amounts of marijuana for patients suffering from serious illnesses.
Eighteen states -- Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington and the District of Columbia -- have enacted laws protecting medical marijuana patients from state prosecution. Patients in these states enjoy legal protections to use medicinal marijuana under a doctor's supervision; seriously ill citizens in Florida deserve this same protection.
The use of marijuana as medicine is a public health issue; it should not be part of the war on drugs. I strongly urge you to support House Bill 1139 and Senate Bill 1250.
Dan Stanard
And know your rights people!
